General Procedures:

All applications for short-term and long-term courses (scholarships) should be made in the prescribed forms and supported by a medical report. The applications must also be endorsed by the participating countries through the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs/focal points.  Subsequently, the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs/focal points will forward the completed forms to the relevant Malaysian Missions. Applications must reach the relevant agencies in Malaysia not later than three (3) months before the commencement of the course. All courses are conducted in English. Below is the workflow of the application process:

Short-Term Specialized Training Courses:

The Malaysian Missions abroad would distribute the brochures prepared by the MTCP training institutions on the short-term specialised courses. Participating countries would identify the potential candidates and forward their nominations to the Malaysian Embassies/High Commissions for onward transmission to the MTCP Secretariat. The final selection of candidates would be undertaken by the various Selection Committees comprise of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia and the implementing training institutions. It is to be reminded that the nominations are not necessarily accepted since the criteria of selection will be based on merit and qualification.

 

Long-Term Courses (Scholarships):

Candidates should apply directly to the Malaysian universities to obtain admission into the universities. Upon acceptance by the universities, they could apply for the MTCP scholarships through the diplomatic channels, as described in the aforementioned General Procedures. However, acceptance by the universities would not automatically guarantee the MTCP scholarships for the candidates be granted. The final selection of candidates would be undertaken by the various Selection Committee comprises of Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
