Background

Diplomacy in the 21st century is fast becoming a more intricate and multifaceted practice. With globalization today, the nature of diplomacy has shifted into a new direction and poses new challenges for diplomats, it has also become more significant and diverse as well. These officials are demanded to master professional negotiations techniques and develop sharp critical thinking skills with essential leadership and diplomacy qualities. Hence such a course is critical for serving diplomatic officers/officials so that they may grasp essential insights into the craft of diplomacy and their effective application, and to keep abreast of current international issues and new methods for effective diplomatic practices.


Objective

● To share the development experience with other countries; ● To strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and other developing countries; ● To promote South-South Cooperation (SSC); and ● To promote the technical cooperation among Developing Countries

Methodologies

Participants will learn through classroom lectures, discussions, group and individual exercises, simulations, study visits and briefings. Participants will also be given assignments based on the course requirements. The course will be fully conducted in English.
